THE DETAILS - INTERIOR DESIGN
Sonic features the Chevrolet dual-cockpit design to promote interior spaciousness. Storage locations are plentiful, and seats are fine-tuned and targeted toward best-in-class levels of comfort. Whether you're a driver or a passenger, Sonic won't feel like a small car with its spacious legroom and large passenger volume.



THE DETAILS - RIDE AND HANDLING
In Europe, small cars rule the landscape as buyers do more city driving, with tighter turns and a greater need for lateral stiffness and precise handling. In the U.S., we have more highways and vehicles are designed for a softer ride - with less of a focus on tightness for maneuverability. Sonic engineers bench marked the European Ford Fiesta, which is lauded as the best-handling small car in Europe. The North American Fiesta is a softened version of that car, with that lateral stiffness sacrificed for a better vertical feel.

Sonic finds the sweet spot in the ride and handling department. It features stiffness that provides "tossability" and agility, along with an enjoyable highway driving experience. The result is a confident, controlled ride whether accelerating down an on-ramp or tossing Sonic around a tight turn.

THE DETAILS - SAFETY
A victim of the "size matters" mentality when it comes to safety, small cars tend to be unfairly perceived as unsafe.

Sonic comes standard with driver and front-passenger air bags, seat-mounted driver and front-passenger abdomen/thorax air bags, driver knee protection air bag and roof-rail-mounted air bags that are mounted between the A- and C-pillar. Sonic also offers Chevrolet-exclusive passenger knee protection air bag and rear seat-mounted passenger abdomen/thorax air bags for outbound rear passengers.

THE DETAILS - TECHNOLOGY AND CONNECTIVITY
Sonic provides connectivity that enhances functionality and fun, including standard OnStar with six months of Turn-by-Turn Navigation that makes Sonic the only small car with standard navigation. Available features include XM Radio®, USB, Bluetooth® wireless technology for select phones and the myChevrolet app.

The myChevrolet app gives you all the practical and functional features a car owner would ever want. Features include a dealer locator, Warning Lights visual reference guide, searchable Owner's Manual and a "Find My Car" feature that lets an owner mark a parking spot to locate their vehicle later.



BUILT IN AMERICA
Production of the Sonic begins later in 2011 at the GM Orion Assembly Center in Michigan, which received a $545 million investment in upgrades and retooling, and will help restore approximately 1,000 jobs in the metropolitan Detroit area.
