Chevy Volt Owners are the Most Satisfied Drivers on the Road

Consumer Reports' studies are one of car-buyers' foremost pre-buy research references. Makes sense...After all, people in the market for a new car don't just want to know what the dealer and automaker think about the models in which they're interested. They want the unbiased perspective of fellow consumers who have actually purchased the vehicles and driven them on a regular basis. Often times, Consumer Reports' studies are broken down by vehicle segment. One recent study, however, set out to determine which vehicle on the road is the one drivers are most satisfied with. Coming in at first place, with a 93-percents satisfaction rate is none other than the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid.

To determine which vehicle (model year 2009-2012) was worthy of an owner-satisfaction title, Consumer Reports, surveyed over 314,000 magazine subscribers. Speaking on the Volt's top customer satisfaction rating, Chevrolet Chief Sales Chief, Alan Batey explains that, "This vehicle is more than how many we are selling day after day, month after month. It is a magnet around everything that we're trying to do to showcase the brand."1

The reason for such a humble statement is that while the Chevrolet Volt rated strong in terms of customer satisfaction, it is by no means Chevy's number-one seller. As acceptance for plug-in hybrid vehicles grows, however, Chevy Volt sales are starting to supersede those of the LEAF. Last month, Chevy even told dealers that they could sell the demo models featured in their showrooms, in an effort to bolster supply.
