Chevrolet Unveils Youth Driven Concepts in Detroit

The fiercer looking of the two, the Code 130R is a two-door, rear-wheel drive car that rides on 20-inch gold wheels. It's a long car, with a 109-inch wheelbase but a short overhang, given it a beefy look that rivals traditional muscle cars. It's equipped with a 1.4-liter, turbocharged, 150-hp engine, and with the help of GM's eAssist, start/stop and regenerative braking technology, should get about 40 miles to the gallon.
The sleek looking liftback concept, the Tru 140S should also boast about 40 mpg with its 140-hp, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Based on the Chevy Cruze, the Tru is definitely sportier, featuring room for four and 21-inch front wheels. Early reviews of the Tru say it's a more likely contender as a production model because of its familiar design mixed with an exotic appeal.
Another factor likely to appeal to young drivers? Either model will probably come loaded with the latest technology and infotainment, with a starting price that hovers just around $20,000. "Young customers tell us they want functionality with coupe-like aesthetics," says Frank Saucedo, Director of GM North American Design Studio. "Both the Code and the Tru body styles resonated with the audience [in Detroit]"1
No interior designs have been confirmed yet for either model, but the Chevy has plans to gather input from the Millennial Generation (those born between 1981-2000) to help decide what features will best suit these concepts.
That said, be sure to stay tuned with Felix Chevrolet, located at 3330 S Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles for continued updates on these exciting developments from Chevrolet.
