Chevrolet To Sponsor Manchester United for 5 Years

Manchester United claims to be the single largest sports franchise in the world. And with a fan base of roughly 659 million people around the world, that just might be an accurate statement. That's nearly one tenth of the world's population, with the most active fans in Europe and Asia. And seeing as how those are the markets where new Chevrolet sales are on the biggest upswing, it makes sense that General Motors would see sponsoring the team as the right move to make.
And that's exactly what they've done. The American automaker recently signed a deal to sponsor Manchester United for the next five years. And while an exact number for the company's sponsorship hasn't quite been laid out, there are reports that their marketing budget from last year will stay roughly the same (about $4.5 billion).
Does this mean they're committing nothing at all? Quite the opposite. It actually means that this could be the biggest advertising campaign that Chevrolet has ever embarked on. See, General Motors recently announced that it will not be airing any advertisements during next year's Super Bowl. And they recently pulled the plug on Facebook advertising as well. They know they have a strong presence here in the United States, and that their marketing efforts would best be served elsewhere. In other words, all the money from those previous endeavors, will now likely be going into the new sponsorship of Manchester United.
In the end, this marketing campaign will allow Chevrolet to gain an even bigger global presence. However, you can rest assured that no matter how far the American automaker expands into the world market, the experts here at Felix Chevrolet, located at 3330 S Figueroa Street in Los Angeles, will continue to keep you informed when the time comes for a new car.
