Chevrolet Minivan to Assume Volt Technology

When we think "electric car", we often think "small". At the 2011 Automotive News World Congress, Dan Akerson, CEO, General Motors Co. broke that stereotype, indicating that the technology in the Chevrolet Volt will show up in a minivan version in the next few years. Chevrolet Volt is Car of the Year



The rechargeable electric Chevrolet Volt has been named North American Car of the Year. This vehicle beat out stiff competition from auto makers Hyundai and Nissan. Fifty automotive journalists from around the country have chosen what they believe to be the top car in North America. In voting, Chevrolet was given 233 points, compared to 163 and 94 for the other two companies.

Chevrolet Uses Recycled Parts from Gulf Oil Spill


Not only is the Chevrolet Volt EV super-eco-friendly thanks to its 100 mile charge range, but also because of what it's made out of. GM reports that while working with clean up efforts in the Gulf of Mexico, it has reclaimed (and will recycle) 100 miles of oil-soaked booms for transformation into plastic parts.
